South Port Marine to Cliff Island
Since we accomplished our objectives of grabbing a mooring at Eagle Island and staying overnight at Yankee Marina, next on the list of “doing things new to us” was to drop anchor for an afternoon. We had our new Rocna anchor at the ready along with out Bluetooth “marriage saver” headsets. The upper region of Cliff Island seemed to be a good place since it had a shallow-water cove protected on three sides from the winds. We dropped, raised, dropped, raised, dropped enough times to get the attention of other boater nearby. Once set we had someone motor by to alert us about the very spot where we were hooked but after all the trouble we decided to stay. We weighed anchor at 1530 after a pleasant stay and headed for homeport.
