South Port Marine to Yarmouth
After spending nearly two weeks on Casco Bay without any overnights away from the dock we decided to take a cruise to Yarmouth. Once we made our way up the Royal River we secured HIPPOKAMPOS with a side-tie at Yankee Marina. It was our first use of booking a slip using an on-line app, and apparently the first customer to do so at Yankee since the harbormaster was unfamiliar with the process. It was refreshing to be on other turf and we did a walking tour of Yarmouth before having dinner at a local restaurant. We met an energetic person doing a major refit of his aging Grand Banks which he had under cover on the hard. We also had the opportunity to tour a Lord Nelson Victory Tug which was on our shopping list when we were looking at the Pilgrim. Very sweet boat! After a comfortable night on board we got an early start to head back to South Port Marina with a short detour to run up to Portland Head Light.
