Not a real exciting trip except that this was the first fresh water cruise for HIPPOKAMPOS and her introduction to our home town. It also had us keeping our log as statute miles, rather than nautical miles as we did on the east coast, since that’s how the inland rivers are charted.

Having had a long winter hibernation in the “boat barn” at Marine Sales and Service we did the usual spring maintenance, checked all systems and splashed. After a quick tightening of the stuffing box we cast off for a shakedown cruise up river to our new homeport at Limestone Bay Yacht Club.
