Looper Rendezvous

The snow birds are headed back north so it’s spring rendezvous time in Norfolk, Virginia! Of the many spring and fall rendezvous that we’ve attended this is the first time we actually have a boat to talk about. That’s one big check-off that gets us much further in the planning stage.

AGLCA BurgeeSince HIPPOKAMPOS is officially on the Down East Loop, being that she’s on the coast of New Hampshire, we stretched the truth a bit and said we were in the “active” stage instead of “planning”. We even bought ourselves a burgee now that we have a staff on the bow to fly it from. And of course we had to bring boat cards with us, something that is standard practice when you go from business-owner to boat-owner and need something to leave behind to be remembered. One of the most interesting surprises was how our point-of-view changed when on the trawler crawls, an evening event when loopers open their boats for others to have a look. Since our boat-shopping days are done we found ourselves focusing on the details instead.

  1. Joe’s mandolin playing was a real hit at the evening music jam!
